Several CTOs looked nearly impossible. One brilliant collaboration. At Poona Hospital & Research Centre, as part of leading our Cardiology Department, I had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Atsuhiko Sugimoto, Chief of Cardio-Vascular Medicine, Sagamihara Kyodo Hospital, Japan. Together with my colleagues, we performed some of the most challenging CTO coronary interventions—cases that test skill, patience, and perseverance to the limit. What stood out was not just the technical success, but the exchange of approaches and perspectives—a genuine academic partnership that transcended borders.
